#aussieartisanweek is back August 16-22, dreamt up by Pepe Saya and Olsson’s Salt this is a celebration of artisan producers across the nation. For us at Salumi Australia#aussieartisanweek is a celebration of our choice to focus on quality over quantity. For 10 years now we’ve been making artisanal salumi in the European slow food tradition, sourcing local ingredients and supporting our local Australian farmers wherever and however we can.

Not only do we at fall under this umbrella, but so do a handful of our friends, making beautiful products focusing on quality not quantity. In ode we wanted to highlight a few of our favourites.

What is a better celebration of #aussieartisanweek the local farmers market? The Nomadic Kitchen continues to champion local producers, whipping up new dishes week after week (often featuring Salumi Australia) for Mullum Farmers Market and New Brighton Farmers Market week after week. Fellow small-scale producers, like The Bread Social, are also deserving of a pat on the back. If you haven’t yet tried their yeasty creations you’re missing out – we like ours with Salumi (of course), or the specialty creations of our fellow neighbours and favourite local producers Byron Bay Crackers, Nimbin Valley Dairy and Debra Allard Cheese.
